Pembina Nordic Ski Club’s Annual Eagle Point Loppet Race

1km, 2km fun races. 5km, 10km, 15km, 30km and 45km Race Events

Date: January 24, 2026 Classic and Freestyle Events

Location: Pembina Nordic Centre, Drayton Valley, Alberta  

EVENT DETAILS START TIMES APPROXIMATE: 

11:00 am for Freestyle 15-45km

11:15 am for Classic 15-45km

1:00 for 5km and 10km (2 laps) routes

Fees include drink and chili lunch

2:00 pm for KIDS FUN RACE 1km and 2km( 2 laps) with participation awards to all.

Route Maps 

5 KM and 10 KM (2 laps) Map - Ridge Loop
15km, 30km (2 laps) and 45km (3 laps) Map with directional arrows
1 KM and 2 KM (2 laps) kids Fun Loop - Route will be in reverse direction from the map

ADDITIONAL EVENT NOTES:

  • We will have a 2 minute staggered start for the three distances.
  • Self seeding by anticipated speed and finish times within the groups.
  • Both skate and classic skiers will share the trail, please use courtesy and caution when passing, Pass out to the left, slower skiers can move over / step off to the right.
  • PLEASE NOTE Routes and distances may vary dependent on snow cover. CURRENTLY THE 15KM LOOP IS LOOKING FANTASTIC!
  • There will be refreshment stations on course. Feel free to add your own labeled bottle to the table just west of the old chalet.
  • Race package pickup: 9 am to 10 am
